If you’re planning to get a nose job in Charlotte, stop smoking now. You’ll be unconscious for the procedure and won’t be able to drive home afterward, so arrange transportation. For two to three days afterward, take your pain medication and antibioltics, find something you can eat and drink plenty of fluids. When you sleep, keep your head elevated to reduce swelling.
For the next couple of weeks, avoid garments that brush against your nose as you dress. Take your temperature often. Don’t drink or take any aspirin for the first three weeks. If you’re a smoker, don’t start again until the healing process is complete. Be sure to attend any post-operative appointments you’ve made.
Don’t do anything that might raise the blood pressure in your head, such as bending over, doing exercises or lifting anything that weighs more than five to seven pounds. If you’re worried about how the surgery turned out, wait until you’re sure the swelling has gone down before you decide.
