Upper eyelid blepharoplasty
An eye lift, or upper eyelid blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic medical procedure in which a very small amount of skin and tissue to lift and smooth the eyelids while still allowing them to shield the eyes.
Be sure to talk to the most experienced facial plastic surgeon you can find to determine if you should get an eye lift. If you have some medical problems, such as blurry vision, dry eye, double vision, diabetes or thyroid problems, an eye lift may not be advisable. And not everyone in Charlotte who looks like they need an eye lift does. The problem may be sagging skin on the brow. An experienced facial plastic surgeon can tell if this is the case.
In eye lift surgery, an incision is made along the natural fold of the upper eyelid. Excess skin, fat and muscle are removed. Sometimes an eye lift is performed at the same time as a brow lift, BOTOX or other facial plastic surgery. After the surgery, there will be some mild swelling, and possibly itchiness and dryness. Within five days, stitches will dissolve or be removed. Ask your doctor about post-operative concerns you have during your initial consultation.
