When talking with your surgeon about what you want from your nose job, you need to be clear on your intent. A great way to prevent miscommunication is to use computer imaging to study your face. Some doctors use 3D printers to create a physical model of the patient’s face with a new nose, but this more expensive and harder to make small adjustments in. A 3D image on the computer can be adjusted until it’s just what you want.
Be sure you’re ready for the nose job when it’s scheduled to be done. Stop taking ibuprofen or vitamin E two weeks earlier, and if you smoke, stop. The day before surgery, cut back on salt and make sure you have someone to drive you home and help you for the next few days. Your surgeon will have advice on how to take care of yourself until your nose is fully healed.
